Re-design by akòmi

Press release

Tenuta la Vigna enhances the places where its wines are born through the new labels of five wines inspired by the landscape and local biodiversity. Just presented to the press, the new visual project curated by akòmi, which has already won four awards in the international Mediastars and Muse Awards.

Five new labels that tell the deep symbiosis between the wine, produced following the slow rhythm of nature, and the place where it is born: this is how Tenuta La Vigna pays homage and enhances the deep relationship established with the territory of Capriano del Colle and Montenetto.

“For four generations,” explains Anna Botti, owner of the winery, “we have been following a path of patient enhancement of the terroir in which knowledge of our vines’ character, potential and individuality allow us to practice conventional-integrated viticulture aimed at respecting natural balance and biodiversity. Our wines fully express the characteristics of the territory, spontaneously revealing the best of themselves: uniqueness, originality, naturalness, the most complete expression of Capriano del Colle DOC.”
With 9 hectares of vineyards and with 6800/7200 plants per hectare distributed among Marzemino, Sangiovese and Merlot for the reds, Turbiana for the whites and Chardonnay for the classic method sparkling wines in the heart of the Capriano del Colle DOC, the farm has always aimed at enhancing the peculiarities that this unique territory gives to the vines, with an approach under the banner of respect for the environment and protection of biodiversity.
This deep bond, which translates into a commitment to constant care of nature and attention to sustainability, has now also become the leitmotif of the new graphic design of the labels and packaging of the winery’s five main wines, which will bring to tables, in Italy and around the world, the landscape, colors, and biodiversity that characterize Capriano del Colle and Montenetto.

The label re-design project.

Located on a picturesque hillside a short distance from the city of Brescia, Tenuta La Vigna is surrounded by vineyards, forests, meadows and streams, in an environment where wildlife thrives and where it is possible to enjoy nature through activities such as walks, outdoor picnics and bicycle rides. This environment became the focus of the new label re-design project. In particular, three wild animals of the area (the barn owl, fox and ibis) inspired the labels of the estate’s three flagship wines, Bruma, Montebruciato and Lamettino. The selection of these animals was based on their physical characteristics, closely related to the name of the wine, and they were represented in their natural habitat through the illustrations on the labels. For the two traditional wines, Torrazza (Capriano del Colle white DOC) and Rubinera (Capriano del Colle red DOC), the labels, on the other hand, narrate the harmonious interaction between man and nature, with activities such as cycling the spring picnics emerging as symbols of hillside experiences.

“In all the labels,” explains Giordano Apostoli, president of akòmi, ”the name of the wine is placed at the center, in a synergistic interaction with the surrounding illustration. This fusion creates a single visual image in which the letters, sometimes concealed, are harmoniously integrated into the design, forming a single composition with the animal and the surrounding landscape. The use of environmentally friendly Inverness white paper, with special finishes such as hot foil lamination for some significant details and UV varnishing to accentuate Tenuta La Vigna’s colors and branding, help to further enhance the visual and tactile appearance of the labels. The bottle capsules and packaging graphics also reflect the same philosophy, using simplified icons with the protagonists portrayed to clearly identify the type of wine.”

The visual design won three packaging awards in the 2024 Mediastars edition, one of the most influential technical advertising awards nationwide. In particular, the work took first place in Food, second place overall and the Special Star for Art direction, also won the Silver Medal at the international Muse Awards.
